With the growth of the all of these micro cities and niche neighborhoods, having a Walk Score for your property listings is a very good tool to have. A Walk Score measures the walkability of any address listed on your website from your chosen MLS and featured listings. Walk Score analyzes hundreds of walking routes to nearby amenities. Providing very important value to those searching for a new place to call home.
This widget also measures pedestrian friendliness by analyzing population density and road metrics such as block length and intersection density. The data sources that go into WalkScore include Google, Education.com, Open Street Map, the U.S. Census, Localeze, and places added by the Walk Score user community.
Here are 3 reasons and benefits of having a walk score on your LuxRe Real Estate website site.
First, it allows visitors to your website to see what are nearest amenities to the address you are researching. The amenities included:
- Dining and Drinks
- Shopping Options
- Parks and Recreations
- Culture and Entertainment
Second, there is a point system that ranks properties based on the distance of the nearby amenities. The closer the properties are to nearby amenities the higher the ranking. The ranking is from 0 to 100.
Finally, use this as a selling point in your advertising. You can research these properties beforehand and use this information for your blog content or social media posting. A great example would be to include this information in a social media ad about an open house. We even wrote a blog post on how to advertise this kind of content in 3 easy steps. If you haven’t tried using a walk score on your LuxRe real estate website, click here to try it out. Even if you are not a real estate agent and you somehow ended up on this blog post, you can still use the Walk Score widget for free.
If you are currently using Walk Score on your real estate website and feel it isn’t for you, you can have this removed at any time or swap out the widget for the Great Schools widget. This widget does the same thing as the Walk Score but, it specifically targets and shows the ratings for the great school near the address you are searching. Read more about it here.
